Resuming Kendo Practice

Dear Members,

As per the updates made by the Athletic Centre on Jan 22, all club sports are allowed to resume their activities starting from Jan 31. After discussion, U of T Kendo Club has decided to resume in-person practices starting from Jan 31 (Monday) with our regular schedule as follows:

  • Monday: 8:00 pm - ~10:00 pm (Advanced Keiko only practice)

  • Wednesday: 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Beginner Practice, first half Senpai-led, second half Sensei-led)

  • Thursday: 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm (Regular Practice)

  • Saturday: 10:00 am - 1:00 pm (Regular Practice)

Advanced members will have their first practice on Jan 31 (Monday) while Beginners will have their first practice on Feb 2 (Wednesday). All practices will take place at the Dance Studio with restrictions similar to last semester, including a 25 people capacity limit and mask required.

Before joining coming to practice, please make sure you have the following items ready:

  • A valid T-Card (for U of T Students) or Athletic Centre Membership Card (for non-U of T Students)

  • Proof of vaccination

  • Completed daily health screening form (Portal see below)

  • Prepare a mask and a face shield (for advanced members)

  • Signing up for practice (Portal see below)

To help us enforce the capacity limit restriction, all members please sign up through the following documents before attending each practice:

A green status on the daily screening form is required upon entry to the facility, please make sure to complete the form through the following links before coming to practice:

Community members please make sure to renew/purchase an AC membership before coming to practice. Since the number of available membership spots is limited, early action is recommended in order to secure a spot.
